About Fort Worth
|
Fort Worth Many people, perhaps even most, think of Oil and Cattle when the name of Fort Worth is mentioned. Historically, Fort Worth grew from a U.S. Army outpost (fort), was spurred by the coming of the railroad and, hence, the shipping point for cattle. The discovery of oil added to the economic and physical growth. These industries still are a vital part of Forth Worth's economy but new industries have been added to the mix: aviation, defense, technology and logistics. |
Fort Worth is
not all industry; it is renown for its cultural facilities, - especially
the performing arts. This is the home of Van Cliburn and his annual
pianists' competition. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra has been enjoyed
all over the world and the art museums regularly display world class works
of art. |
