About Charleston
March, April,
May and early June - and again in the late autumn, are the great months to
visit Charleston. Flowers burst forth in the early spring and, if your
residence is in a northern climate, you will really appreciate the way
Charleston's moist sea air cuddles you and does a complete thaw. (Of
course, in the late summers, that is the last thing you want.) Downtown is
splattered with all kinds of historic highlights (you'll have to do some
walking) and the Battery is a must see: a lovely park, benches to sit on,
trees for ample shade, and a view of the harbor which is constantly
changing. Bring a bag lunch - most everyone (who is in the know) does. |
