About Albuquerque
As in most large cities, there are many things to see and do in
Albuquerque. The most popular attractions seem to be:
J.W. Eaves Movie Ranch -
A mock western town built for filming movies including such films as:
The Cheyenne Social Club, Billy Jack, Silverado, The Culpepper Cattle
Company and Butch & Sundance: The Early Days. For more
information, phone 505-474-3045 or e-mail
jceaves@omnisleep.com
Old Town - If you'd like to absorb
the feel of old Spanish colonial days, sit and relax as others stroll by,
snack (or feast) in a unique restaurant, you'll want to visit
Albuquerque's Old Town.
Sandia Peak - Traversing a span of
2.7 miles, the Sandia Peak Tramway is the world's longest 'jigback'
passenger tramway. Ride the Tramway to Sandia Peak where, at an elevation
of 10,378 feet, you can dine in style with a panoramic view which is said
to cover over 11,000 square miles. The peak is popular for skiing in the
snow season and mountain biking the rest of the time. (Note: The Tramway
will be closed for maintenance October 27 through November 7, 2003.)
Sandia Peak and the Tramway is northeast of Albuquerque. If you are on
I-40, take exit 167, follow Tramway Blvd. north (about 9 miles) to the
Tramway. If you are on I-25, take exit 234 and follow Tramway Rd (east) to
the Tramway.

Santa Fe Southern Railway
- Enjoy a scenic ride on the 120-year-old Atchison, Topeka and Santa
Fe Railroad spur from Santa Fe to Lamy through the scenic New Mexico
countryside aboard a genuine vintage train. Departing daily from Santa
Fe's century-old depot, the schedule presently has trains running year
round. On some trains you can feast on a feisty New Mexico barbeque.
Cocktails also served. (see their web site for details)
Depot is at 410 S Guadalupe
